Video: Over 2 Kilograms of Opium Found in Vehicle Trunk

On the night of December 21, officers from the main division of the Criminal Police and the Investigative Committee's Special Investigative Unit implemented operational data concerning illegal drug trafficking. Collaborating with regional units from Syunik, as well as the divisions in Megrit and Kapan, along with the Russian border guard forces, they carried out a series of complex operational and investigative measures.

As a result, a 33-year-old man from Akhalkalaki was apprehended along with his vehicle. During the search of the Ford Transit, three packages resembling opium were discovered, weighing a total of more than 2 kilograms and 950 grams. The packages had been hidden in the trunk door of the vehicle.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the 33-year-old man has been arrested. An examination has been ordered, and the circumstances are under investigation.
