Why Citizens in the Reserve Are Receiving Summons from Military Registration Offices Again: "Zhoghovurd"

"Zhoghovurd" newspaper has been receiving reports that citizens are once again receiving summons to appear at military registration offices in their localities. According to citizens who contacted us, they are not being informed about the purpose of their summons to the military registration office, especially given that the war has already ended.

Interestingly, the citizens who reached out to us pointed out that those who had paid money years ago to avoid military service remained comfortably at home throughout the war, while those who did serve in the army are now being asked to return and provide their service to the military once more.

The "Zhoghovurd" newspaper sent an inquiry to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, requesting clarification on why mobilization is being conducted again in the country. The head of the Recruitment and Mobilization Service of the Ministry of Defense, Armen Avtandilyan, responded: "From December 22 to 24, a mobilization was planned in Armenia; however, by the relevant order of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, the mentioned procedure was considered canceled, and on December 19, I instructed all heads of territorial units not to notify citizens registered in the reserve and not to conduct mobilization recruitment."
