Samvel Hakobyan on His Resignation Request

The Deputy Commander of the Armenian Police Forces, Colonel Samvel Hakobyan, has issued a statement saying:

“I am convinced that the orders given to the police, and especially to the police forces, during these days have nothing to do with the issues mentioned above; moreover, they endanger the security and solidarity of our country and society. Unable to demonstrate absolute indifference, I have decided to not participate in the aforementioned injustices and have submitted a report on the cessation of my service in the police. I call upon my colleagues and fellow officers to refrain from carrying out illegal orders, to remain loyal to their oath, and to serve solely the law and the interests of society.”
