Turkey's Foreign Minister Gives 'Friendly Advice' to Greek Counterpart

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has responded to Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias's remarks on Twitter regarding sanctions against Turkey. Ermenihaber reports on this development.

Cavusoglu specifically wrote: “Dear Nico, here’s a friendly advice for the New Year: Stop asking for help from others and damaging the reputation of the Greek people. Let 2021 be a year when we can directly, sincerely, and seriously discuss our disagreements.”

It is worth noting that Dendias had mentioned in his post that EU member states have repeatedly brought up the issue of imposing an arms embargo on Turkey. Regarding the sanctions imposed on Turkey by the United States, he stated, “The US has imposed sanctions on Turkey under the pretext of sabotaging NATO's integrity.”
