Suspect Called Police and Reported That His Guest Had Likely Died

On December 20, a murder occurred in the Ararat region. At approximately 20:40, the operational management center of the Yerevan police received a call from 55-year-old Karen J., a resident of Artashat, who reported that he had a guest at home who had not responded for 30 minutes and seemed to have died, according to shamshyan.com.

The Yerevan police transferred the information to the Ararat regional police, from where an operational group arrived at the specified address, led by the regional police chief Kamo Tsutsulyan and Artashat police chief David Petrosyan. A team from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Ararat regional investigative department also arrived on the scene.

At the scene, police and investigators discovered the body of 54-year-old Ashot H., a resident of Artashat. The forensic expert noted that there was a stab wound in the heart area. At the same time, police in the Ararat region detained Karen J. on suspicion of committing the murder and subsequently presented him to the Ararat regional investigative department, where he was arrested based on the investigator's decision under Article 104, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
