No One Has Entered Syunik, and Nothing Has Been Given from Syunik: Nikol Pashinyan
The first stop of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Syunik province is in the village of Sarnakunk. During a meeting with the community members, the Prime Minister listened to their concerns and answered questions.
"The boys who fell for the homeland saved the people of Artsakh from genocide. This is the most important statement. The second is that the situation was developing in such a way that failing to act at that moment would mean putting the lives of tens of thousands of soldiers at risk. The decision was made because there could be no other option at that moment. Subsequent decisions are again made for one reason: to ensure stability around Armenia and to prevent the processes from becoming uncontrollable," emphasized Prime Minister Pashinyan, alleviating citizens' concerns.
"No one has entered Syunik, and nothing has been given from Syunik; let’s understand this. Everything is being done to ensure the security of Syunik and to create additional guarantees. All actions are related to this. There are certain points on the borders, and our border guards are deployed around them, and as an additional guarantee, the forces of the Russian border guards are also stationed there," the Prime Minister stated.
Some community members suggested that Pashinyan raise a cup in honor of the fallen soldiers who defended the borders of the homeland.
"Today is a day of mourning, and we continue our tribute and respect for our martyrs, but we also note that Armenia, Artsakh, and Syunik must live and develop for their sake, and our country must develop. We must unite with each other. We will find solutions to the questions you mentioned. Something very important happened yesterday: our group of six soldiers that had remained in the forests has been brought out. Although it is a day of mourning, this has changed the mood, because we all seek some light point," the Prime Minister indicated.
"This might sound a bit harsh, but if you resign, then you have betrayed us, Mr. Prime Minister," said one of the community members.
