List of 62 Captured Soldiers Transmitted to ICRC, Says Vagharshak Harutyunyan
On December 21, Armenian Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan provided clarifications via video link to the parents and relatives of soldiers captured in the Hin Tagher-Khtsaberd area of the Republic of Artsakh.
The Minister indicated that everything possible is being done for a prompt resolution of the issue. Specifically, according to Vagharshak Harutyunyan, the list of 62 captured soldiers has already been transmitted to the International Committee of the Red Cross, and their personal files have been sent to the European Court of Human Rights. The issue is also under the attention of the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in Artsakh.
Vagharshak Harutyunyan assured the relatives of the soldiers that the Ministry of Defense is doing everything possible to ensure the return of the captured servicemen to their homeland and emphasized that there are no misinterpretations in this matter. The primary objective remains the same for both the relatives of the soldiers and the Ministry of Defense: to bring home all our servicemen who have ended up in captivity, safe and sound, as soon as possible.
