Human Rights Defender Condemns Incident at Sisian Church

The Human Rights Defender has deemed unacceptable the calls and information regarding threats and violence against the church's spiritual leader. Arman Tatoyan announced that he spoke with the Chief of Police, who assured that the police would take necessary actions urgently to prevent any tension or violence.

The police also denied the information circulating on social media that a search had been conducted at the home of Father Pargev Zeynalyan.

It is noted that today an incident took place at the Saint Grigor Church in Sisian, involving the local clergyman, Father Pargev Zeynalyan, who refused to shake Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's hand. The incident has sparked intense dissatisfaction among citizens, who marched from Sisian Square to the church, expressing their outrage regarding the event and showing support for the Prime Minister.
