Collapse at Abandoned School in Yeghgis Village Leads to Fatality
On December 21, at 16:42, a call was received at the Vayots Dzor regional crisis management center reporting that a wall had collapsed at the abandoned school in Yeghgis village, resulting in casualties.
A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that during the dismantling works on the two-story school located on Central Street in Yeghgis, an internal wall on the second floor (approximately 20 square meters) had collapsed, causing injuries to the citizen Lyova Gh. (born in 1967).
Before rescuers arrived at the site, Lyova Gh. was hospitalized at the Yeghnadzor Medical Center, where he later died. The rescuers have secured the area.
