Arthur Vanetsyan Invited for Interrogation in Five Billion Dollar Case

The Special Investigation Service is preparing materials related to allegations of five billion dollars. It is recalled that a number of political figures, including Mikael Minasian and Aghvan Vardanyan, have stated that the issue of Artsakh was resolved through a deal in which Nikol Pashinyan was offered five billion dollars in exchange for defeat and capitulation. Now, the SIS has begun an investigation in relation to these statements.

Specifically, Mikael Minasian had reported that such an offer was conveyed to Pashinyan by a senior Azerbaijani official, with the proposal passed to the then Director of the National Security Service, Arthur Vanetsyan, in Dubai. This information was reported by “Hayainak.”

Vanetsyan, in a conversation with us, did not deny the fact, stating that yes, such meetings have taken place: “Within the framework of operational communications, I have periodically met with the representative of Azerbaijan, including in Dubai. As a result of these contacts, I have received various information numerous times and conveyed it to Nikol Pashinyan, and all members of the National Security Council were aware of these communications. Regarding the content of the mentioned meeting or many other meetings that occurred in this format, I consider it essential to emphasize once again that I do not intend to disclose information obtained in the line of duty.”

We have learned that based on these statements, the preparation of criminal case materials is underway, with a clear goal of refuting the rumors about the “sale of Artsakh.” In this case, Arthur Vanetsyan was summoned by the SIS today. However, according to our information, he did not appear for interrogation today for valid reasons.
