Using Administrative Resources to Bring People to a Mourning March is Simply Shameful: Arthur Vanetsyan

It is unacceptable to turn Yerablur into a place where chants are heard and loud speeches are made; it simply cannot be allowed. This was stated today in a conversation with journalists at Yerablur by Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the 'Homeland' party and former head of the National Security Service, commenting on yesterday's mourning march to Yerablur and the observation that Nikol Pashinyan managed to break through the crowd accompanied by numerous police officers to enter Yerablur.

'It was yet another political show, yet another manipulation that does not suit us,' Vanetsyan noted.

Responding to the observation that photos from the mourning march are actively circulating, indicating how many supporters Nikol Pashinyan has, Vanetsyan stated, 'Using administrative resources to bring people to a mourning march is simply shameful. As for comparing the number of people walking behind someone, it is disgraceful to make such comparisons. There is a deep political crisis that needs to be addressed. The leader who signed the disgraceful capitulation statement must voluntarily understand and leave his position, because the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people do not deserve a defeated leader.'

Addressing the situation in Syunik and the fact that Russian border guards will ensure the safety of a 21 km stretch of the Goris-Davit Bek and Goris-Kapan roads, Vanetsyan said, 'Under the rule of these authorities, we lose a part of our homeland every day; there are new captives, and we do not receive any information about the missing. The political power must change so that answers are given to all these questions.'
