Official Baku Acknowledges the Captivity of 62 Armenian Citizens

The fate of 62 servicemen from the Shirak region is being clarified as B. Avagyan, the deputy head of the Artik community and also appointed as the representative of the President of the Republic of Artsakh for special assignments, is supporting the processes of determining the statuses of these servicemen and facilitating their return to their homeland in case their captivity is confirmed. This was reported by the Artik municipality.

“Just recently, B. Avagyan met with the President of the Republic of Artsakh A. Harutyunyan, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces R. Muradov, as well as the parents of the Armenian servicemen captured from Khtsaberd. During the meeting, General R. Muradov confirmed that all 62 Armenian servicemen are in Azerbaijani captivity, and official Baku acknowledges this fact. Furthermore, all captives are alive and well. The next phase will involve discussions regarding the timeline for the safe return of our boys,” the statement reads.
