At least 9 people have been killed in a car bomb explosion in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital, according to reports from Reuters citing local authorities.
The target of the attack was Member of Parliament Khan Mohamad Wardak, who sustained injuries in the blast. In addition to him, around 20 others were injured, including women and children, reported Masoud Andarabi, Afghanistan's Minister of Interior.
It remains unclear whether the explosives were planted in a vehicle parked along the road to the lawmaker's office or if the vehicle was driven by a suicide bomber.
As of now, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
