He Knows That Participation in Today's March Will Be a Stigma for Each Attendee: Walking Here Came, Walking Away Will Go: Mikael Minasyan
The former Armenian Ambassador to the Holy See, Mikael Minasyan, writes:
“Today, the most disgraceful traitor of the last 100 years of our history will step out among the people. Today, at 1:00 PM, the symbol of our greatest defeat will shamelessly walk the streets, trying to go to Yerablur and cynically bow before the graves of 5000 victims, the deaths of whom he and his wife are personally responsible for and whose names he and his wife still keep secret. This march today is a special manipulation by Nikol to show that he is not the only anomaly in the country. He knows that participating in today’s march will be a stigma for each attendee. He wants to share this stigma with as many people as possible. After all, he will become not only rejected and hated but also every marcher will bear that same mark. And who is more loyal than he who has nowhere else to go?
Nikol knows that he will never erase the label of both a traitor to the homeland and a scoundrel of the nation from himself. But by organizing this march, mobilizing his subordinates, and forcing them to walk with him, he wants to pass the label of traitor and scoundrel to all those who march.
I responsibly declare that anyone who participates in this march today, whether forced or voluntarily, will become a co-author of this crime for me, equally sharing Nikol’s responsibility. I warn you now so that later there won’t be anyone complaining or trying to justify themselves.
And let those, especially, who:
- have lost a child and decided to march—you are walking with the one who killed your son,
- are freedom fighters and have fought—you are walking with the one who surrendered land and forgets the blood of your comrades,
- are state system employees or came out to the street on the instructions of your employer—if you walk, then you are a spineless puppet.
Do you know that phenomena can be perceived differently, defeat can be carried differently, changes can be imagined differently, but walking with a traitor and a murderer has no explanation or justification.
His march is not about mourning. It is not about the soldier. It is not about the homeland. His march is an attempt to transform his personal betrayal into collective scoundrelism. Do not become Nikol’s scoundrels. It will not be forgiven.
Today, everything will be filmed and photographed. Do not allow your descendants to find you in that march. You will be ashamed.
P.S. 2.5 years ago, Nikol started his path to power only by walking alone, aside from a few half-men. 2.5 years later, he is walking again alone, again with a few half-men. 2.5 years ago, he came to the flourishing and vibrant capital. Today, he walks through his desolate country, across blood and bloody footprints—towards the grave: Walking here came, walking away will go.”
