Volunteers from Shirak Region Trapped but Now Back in Armenia, Says MP

Armenian National Assembly member and former Shirak region governor Karen Sarukhanyan made a Facebook post stating that volunteers who had departed from Shirak Region and found themselves trapped in the area of Hin Shen and Nor Shen villages are now back in Armenia.

He added that among the volunteers were leaders of two consolidated communities, deputy community leaders, and administrative heads, who firmly held their positions and only relinquished them to their brothers when it was their turn. After midnight, our volunteers will be welcomed back in Shirak Region.

I am confident that consistent efforts are being made to address the issues arising in other problematic positions. Dear people, believe me, each of us is doing everything we can in an emergency regime to ensure that our brothers return home alive and safe to their warm homes, and that our positions remain secure.

I would like to extend special thanks to the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Eduard Aghajanyan, who over the past five days have been in daily contact with me and the volunteers, closely analyzing the situation that has arisen and playing a significant role in this crucial endeavor.
