Several Committees in the National Assembly Have Been Rendered Inactive: 'Joghourt'
Several committees in the National Assembly have been rendered inactive. Initially, the coronavirus situation and then the war have led to a scenario where certain committees have not convened since June of this year and have not held discussions.
According to the official website of the National Assembly, the last meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee took place in September, at least according to the data from the official site. However, this is a very important committee, and lawmakers should have met frequently to discuss important issues and inform the public accordingly. Yet, there is silence on this matter on the official website of the National Assembly.
Another significant body, the Standing Committee on Health Issues, also last convened in September and only held a meeting again on December 5, in anticipation of the plenary sessions. In the section for updates from the Standing Committee on European Affairs, the data has not been updated since June, meaning this committee has been inactive since then, again according to information from the official website.
Several other committees are facing nearly the same situation. Only in anticipation of the sessions has the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs been relatively active, as it has been the lead on the presented laws. This information has been acquired by the 'Joghourt' newspaper from open sources, specifically the official website of the National Assembly.
