Russian Defense Ministry Specialists Conduct Demining Operations in Stepanakert
The specialists of the International Mine Clearing Center of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Defense have carried out demining and explosive ordnance detection operations in the capital of Artsakh, Stepanakert. This was reported by the official website of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The specialists of the International Mine Clearing Center of the Russian Defense Ministry continue engineering reconnaissance and demining operations in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, under the responsibility of Russian peacekeepers. During the previous day, engineering reconnaissance and demining operations were conducted in Stepanakert. A total of 21.8 kilometers of road was cleared, and 1,334 explosive ordnance items were identified and removed for destruction," the statement reads.
Since November 23, Russian specialists from the Humanitarian Demining Center have cleared an area of 195 hectares and 87 kilometers of road. More than 7,000 explosive ordnance items have been identified and destroyed.
