Man Takes Hostages in France and Kills His Wife

A resident of the Domont community in France took his wife hostage and killed her, according to Le Parisien. The perpetrator has been identified as 58-year-old Dominique G. He was barricaded in the office of a rehabilitation company where he worked as a manager. Present in the room were his wife, 44-year-old Cécile P., and two other individuals.

Dominique G. held his wife hostage for more than three hours before killing her and subsequently committing suicide. Two other hostages were injured during the incident. Sources from the newspaper have reported that the man had been convicted three times for domestic violence. He had been going through a divorce over the past two years, and the couple had three daughters.

The GIGN, a specialized gendarmerie unit that deals with special operations, was working at the scene, as reported by Interfax.
