If This Process Continues, We Will Definitely Lose Syunik: Deputy Mayor of Goris

We are raising our voice against the issues related to our territories. We hear every day on television that this does not concern the state border of Armenia, yet we have not received an answer on what the state border of Syunik is. This was stated today, December 18, in a conversation with journalists by Menua Hovsepyan, the deputy mayor of Goris.

“The instruments used by the Armenian authorities for demarcation are based on principles adopted by the Turks. We are raising our voice in protest and do not intend to agree. The Syunik region is being put in danger. If this process continues, we will definitely lose Syunik. Syunik is ours, and we are not willing to be part of this sold-out process. The solution is for the government, which does not grasp the situation and cannot manage this process, to resign immediately and hand over leadership to someone ready to take responsibility for this process,” said Hovsepyan.

It should be noted that on the morning of December 18, residents of Goris closed the section of the interstate road passing through the village of Vorotan on the Iran-Meghri-Kapan-Goris-Yerevan route.
