Boundary Demarcation Work Begins in Kajaran
Boundary demarcation work has already begun in the city of Kajaran, Syunik Province, using GPS systems. This was reported to NEWS.am by the mayor of Kajaran, Manvel Paramazyan.
He mentioned that the map is currently being studied for precise boundary demarcation. It is noteworthy that, according to the decision of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, important positions in Syunik are being handed over to the adversary by 5 PM today.
In a conversation with us, Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan stated that in the event of a retreat from the positions, the two routes leading to the villages of Kapan would be blocked. "In other words, the roads to those villages will be in the Azerbaijani border zone. The villages of Agarak, Yeghvard, Khdrants, Ujanis, and the other route including Jakatun, Shikahogh, Strashen, Nerkh Hnd, Tsav, and Shishkert would be surrounded. While Agarak, Ujanis, Khdrants, and Yeghvard have alternative routes, the villages of Jakatun, Shikahogh, Strashen, Nerkh Hnd, Tsav, and Shishkert do not have alternative routes," he emphasized.
Later, the Ministry of Defense reported that Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan met with the leaders of several communities in Syunik Province and stated that the border is being clarified in the presence of high-ranking officers from both sides, and that no meter of the territory of Armenia will be ceded.
