Azerbaijan's Aliyev Claims Armenia Deliberately Disrupted Peace Talks
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during an online meeting of the leaders of the CIS member states, stated regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict that the Armenian authorities have done everything since 2019 to disrupt the peace negotiations aimed at resolving the issue.
In his speech, Aliyev specifically referred to former Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, recalling the latter's declaration of 'new war, new territories.' He stated, 'The former Armenian defense minister, during his visit to the USA, publicly declared that Armenia is preparing for a new war for new territories,' adding that this statement reveals the essence of Armenia's aggressive policy.
According to Aliyev, it is noteworthy that the declaration occurred in the USA. Furthermore, the Azerbaijani president mentioned Nikol Pashinyan's statement, 'Artsakh is Armenia, and that's it,' made in 2019, emphasizing that this provocative thesis was aimed at undermining the peace process.
Aliyev concluded, 'All of this indicates that Armenia has deliberately disrupted the negotiation process.'
