Time Limit for Declaring Military Operation Participants as Missing to be Reduced to 3 Months
Amendments to the Civil Code propose new regulations regarding missing persons. Specifically, if it is suspected that an individual is missing due to military operations, the time limit will be set at 3 months. This was announced today, December 17, during a government meeting by Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, who presented a draft decision regarding the amendment to the Law of the Republic of Armenia on "Military Service and Status of Military Servants."
"The time limit for declaring someone deceased is also reduced by one year due to military operations, and a transitional provision states that this applies to relationships arising from September 27 onwards. This change is related to providing the relatives of missing servicemen more opportunities to apply to certain funds for compensation within a tighter timeframe," Badasyan said.
