The Airplane Awaits Them for Return to Homeland: Zohrabyan Meets with Captives

NAIRA ZOHRABYAN, a member of the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction of the National Assembly, wrote on her Facebook page: 'Earlier today, together with my colleagues Shake Isayan and Ani Samsonyan, we visited the Yerevan garrison hospital of the Defense Ministry, where our servicemen recently returned from Azerbaijani captivity are currently being treated.

We spoke with all the boys, listened to their stories about when they were captured and how many days they spent in prison in Baku. Some of the soldiers had been taken captive from the very first day of the war and described the moment as miraculous when they were told that an airplane awaited them for their return home.

The boys are undergoing comprehensive medical and psychological examinations at the hospital, and we have wonderful military doctors. Staff from the Ombudsman’s office and family members are visiting them. Soon all the boys will be home.

For understandable reasons, I cannot write much about my conversation with them. Since September 27, after 44 days of bloody nightmares, and amid a tragedy still ongoing today, when I listened to the boys recounting their experiences, it was an unimaginable feeling for everyone when they said, 'Get ready, you are going home.'

Our struggle is not over yet. We still have many captives and missing persons, and we continue to face the challenge of not conceding our homeland's borders to the enemy. We still need to establish an adequate and anti-Turkish government in our country. And we will do so. We hope that our other military captives still in captivity will also make it home.'
