Sarcelles City Council of France Adopts Resolution on the Situation in Artsakh
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh reports that the city of Sarcelles in France, a sister city of Martakert in Artsakh, has adopted a resolution regarding the situation in Artsakh. The resolution notably states:
“On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan, with the support of Turkey, launched a particularly severe attack against the Republic of Artsakh. A significant part of the Republic of Artsakh, which the residents were forced to leave, has been seized by Azerbaijan. In light of this situation, the city of Sarcelles unanimously:
- confirms the urgent necessity of reaching a final resolution of the conflict, which will guarantee the stable security of the civilian population,
- affirms the absolute necessity for the peaceful population that left the Republic of Artsakh to safely return to their homes,
- recognizes the right of the Armenian people of Artsakh to self-determination as the only opportunity for their security,
- calls upon the French government to recognize the Republic of Artsakh and establish diplomatic relations with its authorities to achieve a final resolution of the conflict,
- provides support of 5,000 euros to the France Hayastan Foundation to aid the population affected by the conflict.”
