Winter Draft to Be Held in February 2021

The mandatory military call-up for conscripts will take place in February 2021. The draft will be conducted from January 8 to February 14.

This was announced by the Ministry of Defense in response to a query from Hetq.

The first winter draft of 2021 will be held in February, although the exact date will be specified after the Government's relevant decision.

It is important to note that typically, the winter draft begins in January; however, this year, due to the coronavirus situation, the draft was supposed to start in December.

Hetq also inquired whether there would be any changes to the lottery system, to which the ministry responded that no changes are currently planned.

The Ministry of Defense also reminded that a partial mobilization is being conducted to address issues arising in certain strategic areas.

The Ministry of Defense conducts drafts and demobilizations twice a year—during the summer and winter.
