Relatives of Captured Shirak Residents Open Gyumri-Yerevan Road: What Promises Were Made to Them
Relatives of servicemen trapped in the villages of Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd in Artsakh, who have been cut off from all means of communication since the evening of December 15 and have reportedly been captured, have opened the Gyumri-Yerevan highway following a meeting with the governor of Shirak and the head of the police, reports Armenpress.
According to sources, Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan informed the relatives that the Chief of Staff Onik Gasparyan is heading to Artsakh to meet with the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov. “High-level negotiations will take place, and once we have information about your relatives, we will inform you,” the governor stated.
Previously, it was reported that the servicemen who have been cut off from communications since the evening of December 15 and are in an unknown status are mainly from the Shirak region. Their relatives have recognized family members in videos released by Azerbaijan. They assert that the soldiers have been trapped for three days.
