Proposal to Take Deputy Mayor Position Received from Yerevan Mayor

Member of the Yerevan City Council from the 'My Step' faction, Gayane Melkoumyan, has posted on her Facebook page informing that she has received a proposal from the Mayor of Yerevan to take over the position of Deputy Mayor. The post reads as follows:

“This issue is certainly not among the priorities in the post-war difficult and tense situation, but since it has garnered public interest, I find it necessary to address it. I have received an offer from the Mayor of Yerevan to assume the position of Deputy Mayor, replacing Tigran Virabyan. Driven by the aim to utilize my maximum capabilities for the benefit of the city, I have accepted the offer. It will be discussed at the upcoming council meeting.

P.S. Regarding the false 'reveals' about my person circulating through anonymous pages and well-known media outlets since yesterday, it is clear that their purpose is to discredit me; I see no need to comment on this.”
