We Want to Meet with Onik Gasparyan: Relatives of the Missing
Relatives of those missing from the Artsakh war are holding a protest in front of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. "We want to meet with Onik Gasparyan (the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces), to understand when our issue will be resolved. This question has been tormenting us for 55 days, and we want to know when he will meet with us and when we will receive an answer to our inquiries. We have reached out to everyone in Armenia—individuals, officials, and state bodies. There is no one in Armenia whom we haven't approached. Now, the only thing left is the meeting with Onik Gasparyan. We want to know if he will be able to meet with us and provide a solution to the issue," said Anahit Adoian, a parent of one of the missing soldiers.
Commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement, where he called for understanding and patience, the protester said: "It's very easy to say that. Let's think about the parents for a moment. If people knew that their sons were captives, perhaps that waiting would be different. But when the situation is uncertain, it's another matter. Yes, we wait, but for how long? Until when?" She added that one of the 44 servicemen returned from captivity the day before is from the same unit where their sons served: "In our unit, 17 are chemists, 17 are mobilized, 6 are intelligence, and one is the bus driver. The one who returned is among the mobilized."
