I Have Received Various Information from the Azerbaijani Representative and Passed It on to Nikol Pashinyan: Arthur Vanetsyan
The former head of the National Security Service, Arthur Vanetsyan, spoke with Hraparak.am and provided specific details about the events that took place during his tenure.
Below is an excerpt from the interview:
- Mr. Vanetsyan, there has been a lot of discussion in recent days about the current situation, Nikol Pashinyan, and the alleged sale of Artsakh for 5 billion dollars. What can you say about this topic?
- I would just remind you that the answers to your question, as well as to a number of other questions related to the catastrophic situation, can be found by carefully re-reading my resignation letter. At this moment, one thing is clear: Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is a traitor and must resign immediately. This is in the interest of the Republic of Armenia and our people; I say this not only as a citizen of Armenia but also as the former head of the NSS.
- Nevertheless, was there a meeting between you and the Azerbaijani representative in Dubai, as mentioned by Mikael Minasyan, and what did you discuss at that meeting?
- Both I and Nikol Pashinyan have repeatedly stated that since the 2018 revolution, an operational communication line has been established between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Yes, until the end of my tenure as the NSS director, that communication was carried out by me and another official who is still in office. Within the framework of operational communication, I have regularly met with the Azerbaijani representative, including in Dubai. As a result of those interactions, I have received various information multiple times and passed it on to Nikol Pashinyan, and all members of the National Security Council were aware of those interactions.
Regarding the content of the mentioned meeting or many other meetings held in that format, I must once again emphasize that I do not intend to publicize information received in the line of duty.
