Hyn Shen Remains Blocked by Azerbaijanis, Says Community Leader

Hyn Shen continues to remain under blockade by Azerbaijanis. Only one thing has changed since yesterday: Russian peacekeepers are now also monitoring the village, situated in the same place as us. This was reported today by Samvel Sargsyan, the mayor of Hyn Shen in the Shushi region, to Tert.am.

“It should be noted that according to the Russian media outlet 'Vargonzo', the village has been unblocked, which Sargsyan refuted.

Regarding the situation in the village, he stated: “The residents have not been evacuated, the road is closed, and the residents do not want to leave the village. Where would they go, why should they leave? We are defending ourselves, and we will continue to defend; our troops are here, our Armenian army is here, our volunteers are here, glory to them.”

It is noteworthy that according to the capitulation act signed on November 9, Hyn Shen was not among the territories handed over. According to the maps of the Russian peacekeepers, it was initially marked as being within their zone of control.

We remind you that on November 10, Nikol Pashinyan signed a trilateral statement, wherein control of seven regions of Artsakh, Shushi, and Hadrut was transferred to Azerbaijan, except for one village and several villages in the Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert region.

According to that statement, a contingent of the Russian Federation's peacekeeping forces will be deployed along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor, including 1,960 servicemen armed with small arms, 90 armored vehicles, and 380 units of automotive and special equipment,” the media writes.
