Hin Tagher Finalized Handed Over to Azerbaijan, According to Community Leader

Hin Tagher has been definitively handed over to Azerbaijan, the truth of whether this is due to the leader's grace is unknown to me. This was stated today by Edward Aivazyan, the head of the Hin Tagher community in the Hadrut region of Artsakh, in an interview with Tert.am.

“The village was depopulated during the war, and up until the end, the mobilization forces were maintaining it. They had said that the Russians would come and establish their positions in those areas. We waited until Saturday, but no one came. Later, I found out that Azerbaijanis had attacked and entered our village. Allegedly, the Russian side went to remove them, but they showed a document that these territories have been handed over to Azerbaijan. Now the Russian military is not there, and Hin Tagher is no longer ours,” he said.

According to the community leader, efforts were made to retain the village in any way possible. During the battles on Saturday, eight individuals from the mobilization forces were injured, and there are reports of 9-10 individuals being taken captive.

Edward Aivazyan noted that the village had 105 residents, who are now living in various regions of the Republic of Armenia, and according to him, residents have not been provided state support as such.

It is noteworthy that on November 10, Nikol Pashinyan signed a trilateral statement that transferred seven regions of Artsakh, including Shushi and Hadrut (with the exception of one village), as well as the villages of Askeran and Martuni regions, and the villages of Talish and Mataghis from the Martakert region to Azerbaijan. According to this agreement, a Russian peacekeeping contingent will be stationed along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor, including 1,960 armed personnel, 90 armored vehicles, and 380 pieces of automotive and special equipment,” the outlet reports.
