False Application to the Head of the Special Investigative Service: Attempt to Make Money in Light of March 1 Events

The "Zhoghovurd" newspaper reports. The newspaper learned that after the acceptance of a draft on providing support to individuals affected by the events that took place in Yerevan from March 1 to 2, 2008, during the government meeting on August 8, 2019, there were individuals who approached the Head of the Special Investigative Service, Sasun Khachatryan, presenting seemingly valid documents to claim they had been harmed during the March 1 incidents and had lost their health, thereby seeking to receive 15 million drams from the government.

Specifically, the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper learned that law enforcement officials uncovered evidence revealing that Ruzanna Azroyan applied on August 22, 2019, to the head of the Special Investigative Service to receive 15,000,000 AMD. However, our sources report that the handwritten notes regarding the causal link of the diagnosed disease in Ruzanna Azroyan's case were absent. For this act, the mentioned woman has been charged under Articles 35-178 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

For more details, see today’s issue of the newspaper.
