60-Year-Old Man Charged with Assaulting His Son's Wife

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed details regarding a case where a 60-year-old resident of the Gegharkunik region was charged with assaulting his son’s wife. This information was provided by the Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee.

According to the gathered evidence, on January 7, 2020, around 21:00, and again on January 8, 2020, at approximately 08:30, during a domestic dispute at their home, the 60-year-old man intentionally assaulted his son’s wife. He inflicted multiple blows to her head and various parts of her body using his hands and feet, causing her physical pain and injuries that did not qualify as serious harm.

With a sufficient combination of evidence, the 60-year-old resident of Gegharkunik region has been charged under Article 118 of the RA Criminal Code (assault) for two incidents. A signature not to leave the country has been chosen as a measure of restraint against him.

The pre-trial investigation has been concluded, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the prosecutor with a motion to confirm the accusatory conclusion.
