Iranian MP Says Support for Armenia Needed in Artsakh War

In a speech during a parliamentary session, Iranian MP Ahmad Bigash addressed the Artsakh war, Turkey's politics, and criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Bigash stated that the assassination attempts against Iranian nuclear scientists are a result of the policies pursued by the Turkish president and added, “Erdogan shares a significant role in the murders of our scientists, just like Netanyahu does.”

According to him, Erdogan aims to divide Iran, and Turkey acts as a subcontractor for the West in the region, as reported by Ermenihaber.

The Iranian MP expressed the necessity of supporting the sanctions planned by the US and EU against Turkey. Referring to the Artsakh war, he emphasized that Iran should support Armenia to maintain the balance of power while adhering to the spiritual leader's words that “occupied territories must be liberated.”

“The response from our foreign ministry to Erdogan was good, but not sufficient. Due to our fatal negligence, the silence of parliament's Azeri-speaking representatives, and the recklessness of our leadership, Turkey's sick president demonstrates behavior aimed at fragmenting Iran. Erdogan is one of those executing the dirty politics of the West in the region and has hands stained with the blood of the people of Iraq, Syria, Kurds, and Armenians. Like his ancestors, who are stained with the blood of millions of Assyrians, Greeks, and Armenians (whose genocide is known in history), he officially declared last week the next era of the Ottoman Empire,” he stated.

“Recently, at a military parade in Baku, he recited a poem regarding the Aras River, addressing the people of Iranian Azerbaijan, declaring, ‘We have not been separated from you; we have been forcibly divided from you,’ and stated that the Aras would soon gain strength. The Azerbaijani MPs in our parliament, where are you? Honorable President of the Parliament and some MPs who are currently preoccupied with presidential elections, do you know that Erdogan recited a section from a song called ‘Araz’ at last week's military parade in Baku, symbolizing the division of the two banks of the Aras River for a group of opportunists and revealing the secret of Iran’s fragmentation? It is time we return our foreign policy to its rails,” he concluded.
