Google GPS-based Demarcation of Armenia's State Borders is Not Possible: Human Rights Defender
Google Maps or Google Global Positioning System (GPS) cannot serve as a basis for the demarcation or delimitation of Armenia's state borders. This was stated by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.
"Google Maps or Google GPS cannot serve as a basis for the demarcation or delimitation of Armenia's state borders. It is unclear which version of Google Maps is being referenced, as Google itself indicates that there are multiple variations of online maps of the world. Or have we verified what algorithmic systems or positioning mechanisms have been employed in the specific version of the online map?"
Investigations and observations by the Armenian Human Rights Defender confirm that this approach seriously endangers the lives, physical and mental inviolability, and constitutional property rights of residents in border areas. This concerns the protection of our state's borders, as well as the physical safety and security of our people and each individual.
Demarcation or delimitation requires professional approaches, the results of scientific research, detailed work on the ground, proper legal foundations, and more. This issue should be among our country's exclusive priorities and in the focus of everyone’s attention.
