Boundary Adjustment Reported in Jermuk Amid Azerbaijani Troop Buildup Rumors

In Jermuk, a boundary adjustment has been carried out with the involvement of the Armenian armed forces and local authorities. Vardan Hovhannisyan, the Mayor of Jermuk, discussed this in an interview with "Armenpress" regarding reports of Azerbaijani troops accumulating near the unclear Armenia-Azerbaijan border for the purpose of constructing a military unit.

“There has been an adjustment of borders and positions. We have gone and agreed on who should stand where. Nothing extraordinary has occurred. There will be no military unit, as previously circulated. The process took place with the participation of our military personnel, and I was also present,” said Hovhannisyan.

The mayor noted that the Armenian armed forces are on site, fulfilling the tasks set before them. According to him, the residents of Jermuk are approaching the situation with understanding.

“There’s no need to create such hype regarding this resort city. Those doing so may be trying to solve some issues, but an entire city could suffer. In reality, Jermuk is safe, and we are expecting guests. The resorts are operating normally, and we have no problems,” Hovhannisyan added.
