Azerbaijani Armed Forces Operations Pose Vital Threats to Physical Safety of Hin Shen Village Residents, Says Artsakh Ombudsman

Just a moment ago, I returned from the villages of Mets Shen and Hin Shen in the Shushi region, where I visited to understand the situation and the dangers threatening our citizens' rights. This was stated by the Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan on his Facebook page.

“The actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces have clearly not only violated agreements at the highest political level but have also posed vital threats, especially to the physical safety of the population of Hin Shen village, including a group of children and women. These threats continue to exist due to the positions occupied by Azerbaijani servicemen and their displayed behavior.

It is commendable that some units of the Defense Army and the Russian peacekeeping contingent are monitoring the situation on the ground, which has allowed for no incidents to be recorded. However, more serious efforts are necessary to resolve the issue and to push Azerbaijani military personnel out of these areas in Artsakh.

I have presented the situation to the leadership of the Republic and received assurances that the authorities of Artsakh and Armenia are working together with the Russian side to address the issue swiftly. The safety of every resident of Artsakh must be guaranteed unconditionally,” he wrote.
