Azerbaijan Arrests Soldiers for War Crimes

On December 14, members of the Azerbaijani armed forces, junior sergeants Rashad Aliyev and Qardashkhan Abishov, as well as privates Arzu Huseynov and Umid Agayev, were arrested for committing war crimes during the conflict. The junior sergeants are accused of desecrating the bodies of fallen Armenian soldiers in the direction of Kovsakan (Zangelan) and distributing photographs and videos of the act. Meanwhile, the privates are charged with vandalizing and desecrating gravestones in Armenian cemeteries in the Martuni region, also filming and disseminating these actions.

It is noteworthy that during the large-scale war launched by Azerbaijan on September 27, Azerbaijani soldiers reportedly committed numerous war crimes, including the desecration of the bodies of the deceased, the deliberate killing of captured civilians and military personnel, and more. Photographs and videos of these acts have been widely circulated on social media.
