Accusations Laid Against Educator of 'Our Yard' Kindergarten
The investigation continues regarding the criminal case opened due to the physical abuse and mental suffering inflicted on children by an employee at 'Our Yard' kindergarten in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan, as reported by the press and public relations department of the RA Investigative Committee.
It has been revealed through investigative and other procedural actions that the kindergarten employee, despite not having the necessary professional qualifications, had been working at the mentioned kindergarten as an educator since September 2020. She was responsible for the daily care and upbringing of the children entrusted to her group.
Specifically, on December 3, 2020, the educator, unable to calm the children under her care using pedagogical methods, threatened the helpless children born in 2018 with contacting their parents and having them beaten, keeping them in a dark room if they didn’t sleep, slitting their throats with a knife, and refraining from providing them drinking water. She also physically assaulted the children, intentionally causing them severe pain and substantial mental anguish.
On December 11, 2020, the kindergarten educator was arrested under suspicion of inflicting physical abuse and causing psychological suffering to the kindergarten children. Based on the evidence collected, on December 12, 2020, she was charged under part 2 of Article 119 of the RA Criminal Code (causing severe physical pain or severe psychological suffering).
