Clashes Erupt in Washington Between Trump Supporters and Opponents

Conservative groups declaring the presidential election was stolen held protests across the U.S. on Saturday, Reuters reports. During several of these protests, fierce clashes occurred between supporters of President Donald Trump and his opponents.

Organizers of the demonstrations, calling for the march under the slogan "Stop the Steal," urged participants alongside church organizations to rally. However, on Saturday evening in Washington, these events escalated into confrontations between Trump supporters from the Proud Boys organization and opponents from Antifa.

Protests were also reported in Atlanta, Georgia, and Mobile, Alabama. Media outlets also reported on gunfire between Trump supporters and opponents in Olympia, Washington, resulting in one person being injured.

It is worth noting that earlier the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a lawsuit supporting the president aimed at overturning the election results in four states, where Democratic candidate Joe Biden was declared the winner.
