Iran Advises Turkey Not to Fall for Delusions, Says Foreign Ministry Spokesman

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, made a statement on Twitter regarding the summoning of the Turkish ambassador to Tehran in connection with the remarks of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In his post, he specifically noted that Iran advises Turkey not to build its foreign policy based on delusions. According to him, it is very important to remind Turkish government officials about the origins of poetry before reading them.

Earlier, Khatibzadeh reported that the Turkish ambassador was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry due to the statements made by President Erdoğan. “The Turkish ambassador has been informed that the era of territorial ambitions and militaristic imperial expansions has long ended,” he stated.

Khatibzadeh emphasized that “Iran will not allow anyone to violate its territorial integrity.”

It should be noted that on December 10, Erdoğan, during a speech at a military parade in Baku, quoted Azerbaijani poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, who said, “They separated us with rivers, filled it with iron and stones, I would not be separated from you, they forced us to be divided.” In this manner, Erdoğan hinted at the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
