UN Conducts Needs Assessment in Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Zone

During a press briefing, UN spokesperson Stefan Dujarric addressed questions regarding the UN's involvement in Nagorno-Karabakh, noting that there are currently no obstacles to the engagement of UN agencies, although some matters are still under development. This was reported by Voice of America.

The spokesperson reiterated the organization’s willingness to provide humanitarian assistance to both Armenian and Azerbaijani sides.

“Our OCHA partners (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) and other relevant UN agencies and bodies are working with all stakeholders to conduct a preliminary independent inter-agency assessment in Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent areas to gain a clear understanding of the humanitarian and any other needs on the ground. I believe it is very important that all relevant actors fully cooperate with us to ensure unimpeded access and advance the mission,” the UN spokesperson stated.
