Gor Abrahamyan on the Prosecutor's Office Spending 60 Million AMD
The advisor to the Prosecutor General, Gor Abrahamyan, has made a post on his Facebook page addressing the rumors circulating in the media that the Prosecutor's Office has spent more than 60 million AMD, including claims that newly appointed prosecutor Srbuhi Galyan will have a separate office, for which the Prosecutor's Office has allocated over 50 million AMD.
“Unfortunately, these days, it has become quite characteristic to provoke public nerves to create the illusion of minor sensations, to 'stir up a storm in a teacup.' The latest example, referenced to a specific media outlet, was the news that during the war, the Prosecutor's Office 'spared no expense' in acquiring a new service vehicle for the Deputy Prosecutor General in charge of managing the recovery of illegally acquired assets and in renovating the administrative premises allocated for the department handling the recovery of such assets, with a total expenditure of 60 million AMD. Our colleagues who published this information have 'modestly' forgotten to mention that the funds allocated for these works were provided from the state budget long before the war. Specifically, the decisions regarding this were adopted by the Government of Armenia on September 10, 2020, under decisions 15-18N and 15-25N. Following that, the procedures for procurement, contract signing, and other processes began in a normal manner.
Moreover, the Prosecutor's Office did not 'spare anything' during the war. In fact, to financially support the Armenian Armed Forces during that period, the Prosecutor's Office transferred 78.5 million AMD to the 'Hayastan' All-Armenian Fund from its budget.
Perhaps the issue of 'stirring up a storm in a teacup' did not allow for the mention of this fact,” wrote Abrahamyan.
