We Must Have the Courage to Accept Bitter Reality: Armen Sarkissian
President Armen Sarkissian received a team from the "Alternative" Research Center, led by its director, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Tatul Manaseryan. During the meeting, thoughts were exchanged about the current situation and challenges facing the country, as well as potential solutions and ways to overcome the crisis.
Speaking about the existing crisis and the painful losses suffered during the war, President Sarkissian emphasized that as a people and a state, we have no choice but to rise together with united strength. He noted that in order to move forward, we must first objectively and accurately assess the situation and our capabilities. It is crucial to recognize that we are facing multiple crises and to accept the reality, while searching for effective paths out of this situation.
President Sarkissian particularly highlighted the importance of systemic solutions and institutions, pointing out that individual persons cannot overcome these difficulties alone. "There are no saviors. We need to have a vision for development, a strategy, and a plan. We must build our state institutions with consistent hard work and discipline. For this, we must first accept that we are in a deep crisis, and not just one, but several. We need to abandon presenting the desirable as reality, reject lies and deception, and cease throwing mud at each other using fakes. Ultimately, we must have the courage to accept bitter reality, to evaluate our mistakes, and to move forward with effective steps," he stated.
The President expressed his strong belief in the power and spirit of our people more than ever before. "We all have an obligation to our ancestors and our people. For centuries, our people have not had statehood, but have managed to preserve our national values, our historical heritage, our language and literature, our church and culture, so that as a nation we can have our own country and state in the future. Today, we have that state, and it is our duty to focus all our efforts on strengthening our statehood and reinforcing our institutions."
President Sarkissian noted that he has prepared a roadmap for overcoming the situation and invited the participants of the meeting to present their solutions. "Only together can we overcome this situation and tackle these difficult challenges."
