Ban on Fruit and Vegetable Imports from Armenia and Azerbaijan Not Kremlin's Issue, Peskov Says
WRed
The ban on fruit and vegetable imports from Armenia and Azerbaijan is not an issue for the Kremlin, but rather a matter for the relevant specialized authority. This statement was made by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of Russia, during a conversation with reporters, as reported by RIA Novosti.
It is noteworthy that Rosselkhoznadzor has prohibited the import of tomatoes and apples from Azerbaijan since December 10. Additionally, starting from December 14, the import of tomatoes and peppers from the Armavir region of Armenia has also been banned.
According to Peskov, the specialized authority does not have an obligation to coordinate its actions with the Kremlin.
