In Armenia, no foreign media decides who the Prime Minister is, says Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a Q&A session in parliament that their greatest challenge is to ensure that the people of Armenia do not lose their right to freely express their will in shaping the country's leadership for any reason whatsoever.
“In Armenia, no foreign media decides who the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia is, and it must continue to be this way,” he said.
In response to Gevorg Gorgisyan's query, Pashinyan urged to not confuse the voices of separate groups with the voice of the people. During the Q&A session, answering the question posed by Gevorg Gorgisyan, the Secretary of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, regarding why the Prime Minister has not resigned in response to the calls of the people, Pashinyan emphasized, “The people should have the opportunity to speak on their own behalf. Our greatest challenge is to ensure that the people have the opportunity to speak and express themselves and that we do not confuse the voices of separate groups with the voice of the people.”
The Prime Minister noted that he and the government consider it crucial to ensure that the power of the people in Armenia is not endangered under any title.
