Canadian Senator Condemns Senate for Not Recognizing Artsakh's Independence Resolution

Leo Housakos, a member of the Canadian Senate, condemned the legislative body's failure to recognize the resolution on Artsakh's independence. According to Armenpress, Housakos expressed this on his Twitter page, stating that the country's Prime Minister has once again stood beside a dictator.

"This is a sad day for the Armenian people. Justin Trudeau has abandoned them, standing once again beside a dictator. What’s even more disappointing is that Trudeau's senators chose to play politics and turned their backs on the Armenian community," Housakos wrote.

The senator concluded his post with the hashtag #RecognizeArtsakh.

On December 8, the Canadian Parliament rejected a motion to condemn the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression against Armenia and Artsakh, impose a ban on arms sales to Turkey, recognize the unalienable right to self-determination for Artsakh, and acknowledge the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.
