We Must Be Honest With Ourselves and Accept Defeat: Andranik Kocharyan
We must be honest with ourselves and accept defeat. This was stated today in parliament by Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee.
He emphasized that we need to understand that what has happened cannot be described otherwise and that we have lost both on the battlefield and morally and spiritually. “It is clear that the fact of being defeated will bring additional complexities; however, we must exit the state of moral confusion as quickly as possible and initiate steps. The next step should be a gradual awareness and understanding of responsibility. In the end, we must try to start a dialogue with the winning side, no matter how difficult that may be. Almost all countries that have recovered from large-scale wars have gone through this path,” said Andranik Kocharyan.
He noted that establishing bilateral diplomatic relations could change the anticipated prospects. “Diplomacy should be based on assessing all possible economic, military, and moral-psychological risks,” added Kocharyan.
