I am confident that the exchange of prisoners will happen very soon: Armen Grigoryan
Producer Armen Grigoryan, whose initiative led artists to deliver letters to the embassies of Russia, France, and the USA in Armenia for the purpose of returning Armenian prisoners, believes they have done what they were obliged to do. He is confident that the process of prisoner exchange will soon become a reality.
In an interview with an Armenpress reporter, Grigoryan recalled that a response was received from the Russian embassy in Armenia after the letters were delivered. "The embassy issued a statement indicating that the issue of the return of prisoners of war is under the attention of their government. Subsequently, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov mentioned that he is aware that we delivered a letter to the embassy and stressed that President Vladimir Putin is personally handling the issue of the prisoners," Grigoryan noted.
He reminded that with the mediation of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to exchange prisoners on the basis of the principle of 'everyone for everyone'. "This process is underway, and I am confident that the exchange of prisoners will happen very soon. Whether we play a minor role in this process is not so significant. What matters is that the exchange will happen, and our boys will return home. The artists have done what they were obliged to do and are now following the events without interfering so as not to hinder the process," he emphasized.
Intellectuals regarding the issue of Armenian prisoners of war delivered letters to the Russian embassy in Armenia on November 29, to the French embassy on November 30, and are planning to deliver a letter to the American embassy in Armenia on December 1.
