Moscow Plans to Vaccinate Approximately 7 Million People Against COVID-19

Moscow intends to vaccinate approximately 7 million people against the coronavirus. This information was disclosed by Moscow's Mayor Sergey Sobyanin during a broadcast on the 'Rossiya 1' television channel.

“We need to vaccinate six to seven million people. You can't just start such a 'machine' all at once,” said the mayor. He noted that the mechanism needs to be developed gradually, along with the organization of logistics, storage, and more.

It is noteworthy that the vaccination campaign has recently commenced in the capital of Russia, with 70 vaccination points operationally based on the data from city adult polyclinics. Priority will be given to vaccinating individuals in at-risk groups, including employees from education, healthcare, and city social services.

Residents wishing to be vaccinated must register in advance, two weeks prior to their appointment. Eligible individuals must be between 18-60 years old, have no chronic illnesses, have not participated in clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine, and have not received any vaccinations in the last 30 days or contracted an acute respiratory infection. They must also be registered at any polyclinic in Moscow. Vaccination is contraindicated for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
